Summer in Qatar is no joke! Temperatures go crazy and remember someone baked cookies in a car! Yes It’s not a surprise! The car feels like a preheated oven when you get in.
During summers the parks are empty and many people escape to cooler vacation locations and for the rest of them still here indoors is the shade! Dining out is the only outing we do. Thanks to the endless new dining spots being open up in Doha lately. There are also a huge number of dessert and juice bars coming up which makes summer a lot more cooler and bearable.
Qatar government makes sure the heat wave does not strike with social life and part of that initiative the Qatar Tourism Authority has opened up ‘Entertainment City’ at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, located behind the City Centre in West Bay.
The Summer Festival 2016 kicked off with amazing diaplay of fireworks at the Corniche. From real-life Angry Birds and Candy Crush games, Bumper cars, a reading maze, train ride and slides are among the more than hundred activities on offer at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. There is also a small food court with twenty-six different restaurants and a Play Doh area for kids.
The entry fee is QR15 per person (kids under two years old are free) and game/ride tickets start at QR5.
Visitors can also purchase a VIP ticket for QR120 per person for unlimited entertainment for one day. Entertainment City will be open daily from 1pm to 11pm, and until midnight on Fridays till August 31 2016.
Visit Qatar National Convention Centre and Malls throughout Qatar for other summer activities.
