Not exactly at The Ritz-Carlton but similar hospitality and luxury awaited us at the High tea court of Ritz-Carlton at Qatar International Food Festival QIFF 2016.
It was 2 o’ clock in the afternoon when we went there and the red carpet to welcome the guests were so bright under the sun. Fabulous! As you climb the stairs beautiful cabana like seating with white leather sofas overlooking the sea was just enough to get lost away from reality for a few hours atleast. We were welcomed by smiling faces and the weather was good too.
The Afternoon tea included selected pastries and choice of tea and coffee. I opted for Moroccan tea because I was introduced to Moroccan tea by a friend and I really loved the flavor. If you have not tried please do.
The pastries came on a three tiered serving platter, neatly arranged with scones, selection of sandwiches and a range of pastries. Now I love beautifully served food. For me part of the taste comes from how a food is served and the Afternoon tea we were served was so beautiful.
When it came to the taste, the raisin scones with cream and lemon curd was an average. I did not find anything so good about it. Same was with the sandwiches and the pastries. Macaroons were good. Amazing flavor. Over all we did not experience anything outstanding taste wise.
The experience was very good. I loved sitting high up to the Doha sea and skyline view. Enjoy the pictures.
Did you taste the afternoon tea from Ritz-Carlton at QIFF 2016? Ritz-Carlton has afternoon tea menu at the hotel too.
