View my food journey on Zomato!

The excitement and eagerness I had when the invitation for the Zomato foodie meetup came to me was beyond words. It was my first meetup and I loved every minute of it. Made some really good friends who are like me ‘leading the foodie life’. Beyond everything it was the dinner that was awaiting us that needs to be raved about. the chefs took turns in explaining the dishes and staff was serving them with ultra care.

We had the best waitress for the evening. The Community Engagement Lead of Zomato, Ms Hala Abdoun was so friendly and vibrant. She was one of the best people whom I met in my life. She made the meetup environment a really friendly and informal one. It was just like dining with our families. Hala is indeed a gem.

It was a holiday feast which we were notified beforehand. And in every sense it was a grand feast. From the staff, seating arrangements to the food and the goodie bag, everything was splendid. The star of the night was the “Turkey”. One thing I know is I am going to recommend dining at “Corniche” more often now. The food is amazing.

TURKEY was the star of the night

The menu for the night was specially for the Zomato guests. The starters included the Waldorf salad, Russian salad, Shrimps and avocado salad, Duck liver rolled in chicken breasts and Mushroom salad. The dishes were extremely flavorful and I know it was the love and care of the chefs that was being displayed there. the soup on the menu was “Lobster Bisque” served in cute red pots. Not being a very good seafood person I did not have the soup, instead was served with a chicken soup which was good too.

The main course was stunning. The TURKEY stole the show. the accompaniments were baked spicy baby potatoes, glazed carrots, pumpkin mash, mushrooms and potato crumble, sauted brussel sprouts with beef bacon, caramelized onion and goat cheese tart. There was Roasted veal with raspberry sauce and also the sea bass with lemon butter sauce as part of the main course. the lemon butter sauce was soo good. Coming to the Turkey, it was just the best. So, it was my first time eating a Stuffed Turkey, and I have high expectations from now on. It was extremely delicious. The stuffing was so good, I ate it all. the gravy was yummy too and the cranberry sauce was good again

Coming towards the desserts, there was soo much to choose from. the desserts of the night included profiteroles, christmas cakes, gingerbread cookies, log cakes, berry tart, pumpkin cheesecake i guess, mousse cake, apple pie and custard. The desserts were delicious but we were so full, could not enjoy the essence of it.

At the end of it we were really full, some of them wanted to sleep. We had a very good unforgettable evening at the Doha Marriott and really looking forward to dining at Corniche of Doha Marriott again. The staff there was so very friendly. Moreover we got to take home a small cookie pack which was the amazing gingerbread cookies.

Really looking ahead for more Zomato meetups in future.
